How to Apply to be a Moderator
|
| The premise behind CanadiansTalk is that we place a subject matter expert in each and every city forum in a position as Moderator. The idea, is this person follows local politics, events etc, and can direct conversation in that Forum. If you believe you are a good candidate to become a moderator, please apply using Private Mail to me (HopsNBarley). The following is a guideline of goals that need to be met before you can be considered to become a Moderator.
|
| 1. | If you are planning to Moderate a City topic, you must reside within that city. |
| 2. | You must have a minimum of 250 posts on CanadiansTalk. |
| 3. | You must show a track record of good adult behaviour, and be a person who can make rational decisions. |
| 4. | You must have a good amount of knowledge on the topic you are moderating. |
| 5. | Some experience is preferred, but not necessary. |
| Being a Canadians Talk Moderator you will have to adhere to all Policies set out by the Staff at CanadiansTalk. Here is a basic run down.
|
| - | foster a sense of community , caring and responsiveness in your assigned forum. This can be done easily by getting involved in discussions, responding to posts (especially those no one else reponds to), and offering your support. NOTE: You do not have to reply to every post (this would be downright exhausting for some forums!). |
| - | Monitor your forum for abusive posts, unauthorized spam or advertisements, copyright infringements, any sort of harrassment, and any other violations of the forum rules and edit or delete posts that violate these rules. All posts that you feel should be removed will be copied into the moderator forum for review. Please copy the post prior to deleting it. |
| - | You should be participating on the Board as often as possible. |
| - | Administrator should be notified if you are going to be away for more than a couple of days. |
