WINDSOR, ONT. -- The Red Bull air race will return to Windsor for the next two years, thanks to a $10-million investment by the Ontario government. "Last year, the Windsor race attracted a viewership of over one billion people worldwide," said Windsor-Tecumseh MPP and Ontario finance minister Dwight Duncan, who made the announcement accompanied by Windsor West MPP and minister of economic development and trade Sandra Pupatello and Mayor Eddie Francis. "It's an enormous tourism marketing opportunity for this community." http://www.windsorstar.com/entertainment/Bull+Race+returns+Windsor/2472987/story.html

I guess the red bull race was a lot more successful than I thought. I was in Ohio in the time, but I knew the condition of the city wasn't very good. Either way that is good for the region.

I didn't go last year but anything that brings people to Windsor even on a temporary business is good. We need more things for families and the little kids (big ones too)seemed to really enjoy it. They talked about it for days!!!! My nephew was one of the cooks down at one of the riverfront venues and said the atmosphere was terrific. There were lots of people down there and even if they only spend a few bucks it sure mounts up and is good for local economy.
