Barry I rather like Windsor. :-) My hubby grew up there. It's much quieter up here. And I would most likely not be able to afford my 100 acres of property if I had bought there. But you have things that we don't, like being able to just walk to the store. We drive 2 hours to hte nearest large city. (Bellville or Peterborough) But, we are fortunate to have great jobs here. We both work for Couples Resort. And it in itself has it's own perks. :-) You have a good day. Boo I will probably see you on the boards a good amount. Will get a chance to get to know all of you. I am sure it will be fun.

Welcome Darlene and I agree Barry, I'd switch places any day to be up there. Gorgeous area of Ontario!

The pay is not the important part for me Brandy. I just want to be home more right now. I have worked for the same place for years now(except for a short stint waitressing at another spot. For the last 7 years I spent most of my nights away from hy hubby and kids. Yes, I could make more money if I waitressed.Tips are fantastic, but focus on the fact that I am doing something I love for a company that has been good to me. And I get to be at home driving my teenagers NUTS! How could that be bad?? So, how far in the "sticks" are you? I always considered this the boonies! LOL

We live west of Edmonton about 90 miles. So maybe its just the edge of the sticks... haha But I love it. I couldn't go back to living in the city.

I have done city and desolate wilderness... and I have to admit, I see benefits to both. Here in the not quite wilderness, it is peaceful.. but you drive a long way to find a Home Depot! I yearn for day when I am able to walk down the street to the local coffee shop. I also miss my time in James Bay sitting on an island almmost in the middle of no where. What's a girl to do? I am glad that I have had the good fortune to try it all..
